Historians consider the Virtual Age and the Information Age to be the two periods that culminated in the Virtual Revolution and the following Fantasy Age.

The **Information Age** started with the invention of the transistor, in December 23, 1947, and ended with the creation of the VR Sphere.

The **Virtual Age** started just at this point and ended with the invention of the snubber. The are many "smaller revolutions" associated with each period, also embracing topics from technological to social transformations. In history books it's usually summarized in the following way. In the Information Age people still thought virtual reality as having less status than reality, which was deemed "special", uniquely "real". In the Virtual Age, this notion about the specialty of reality gradually disappeared and it became just "one reality among many", called Default Reality.
